Titan Steel’s management team has a long history in the steel industry, and have spend most of it working together, with an average tenure at Titan Steel of over 25 years. Our management team is engaged in all aspects of the day-to-day business and is intimately involved in all the transactions completed by the company.

Michael Levin

Michael Levin

Executive Chairman

Michael Levin joined Titan Steel in 1974, and as CEO built the company to be the 453 largest private company in the USA. In 1998, he also founded NewView Technologies (formerly e-STEEL), being named one of the Top 25 Champions behind the e-commerce revolution by B2B Magazine in 2002. He is a a director of Stemcor and member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and was previously a board member at MoMA PS1 and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Mr. Levin graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BA in 1972 and Harvard Business School with an MBA in 1974.

Chief Executive Officer

Max Levin joined Titan Steel in 2013 and was appointed CEO in 2018. He is responsible for leadership of the company and is directly involved in all aspects of Titan Steel, focusing on new business initiatives, customer satisfaction, and process improvements. He previously worked in corporate finance at Houlihan Lokey, a middle market investment bank. Mr. Levin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA and BS in 2009.

 

William Hutton

William Hutton

President & CFO

Bill Hutton joined Titan Steel in 1985. As President and Chief Financial Officer, he drives Titan Steel’s day-to-day business and is responsible for Titan Steel’s financial strength. Prior to Titan Steel, he worked at General Motors. Mr. Hutton was awarded the 2010 Maryland International Business Leadership Award. Mr. Hutton graduated from Williams College with a BA in 1979 and Yale School of Management with an MBA in 1983.

 

Larry Long

Vice President

Larry Long joined Titan Steel in 1999. He is responsible for North American sales and marketing as well as Titan Steel’s service center in New Lenox, IL. Prior to joining Titan Steel, Larry worked in service centers in the Chicago area in both operational and management roles. Mr. Long graduated from Lewis University with a BS in 1980.

 

David Wojciechowski

David Wojciechowski

Vice President

David Wojciechowski joined Titan Steel in 1984. He is primarily responsible for the Baltimore facility and global tinplate purchasing. Dave has spent his entire career at Titan Steel, working in a variety of operational and management roles in our service centers.

The companies of The Titan Industrial Corporation are still family-run, with active involvement of the second and third generation of the family.

Background

The Titan Industrial Corporation, Titan Steel’s parent company, was founded in 1946 as a global commodity trading company. The company quickly grew into a range of different sector, eventual opening Titan Steel, its tinmill service center operations, in 1973 and then folding all steel service center operations in Titan Steel.

The employees of Titan Steel come from a 65+ year history of global sourcing and distribution expertise. Over the years, Titan Steel has been involved in a wide variety of prime and secondary, flat and long products, from hot bands to rebar. In addition, we have sold to and sourced from all major steel markets, establishing a unsurpassed network and expertise for international business.

More recently, Titan Steel has refocused on its core competency of tinplate, flat rolled and related products. We have over 85 employees focused solely on the sourcing, processing, sale and logistics of light-gauge, surface critical material. In addition, we have dedicated market coverage for North America, Latin America, Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia-Pacific, and the Indian subcontinent.

We can offer our customers services as significant as complete supply chain solutions or as small as individual products. On one hand, Titan Steel is efficiently managed to serve as a fully-integrated service provider, coordinating inventory need, sourcing options, processing management, quality control, third party processing, JIT delivery and claims management. On the other hand, we have large warehouses of common and hard-to-find specifications where customers can purchase individual coils. Our flexibility allows customers to choose the type of service needed.

Capabilities

Headquartered in the United States, Titan Steel currently sells to, and sources from, companies around the globe. Our capabilities are geared to offer efficient solutions in niche markets. We have deep experience in procurement, processing, sales and logistics for tinplate and related products.

Titan Steel maintains regular coverage of over 20 mills around the world. We regularly inspect each mill supplier and stay current with their strengths and weaknesses. In addition, we communicate regularly with highly-reputable secondary-market sellers. The size of our annual buy allows us effectively negotiate with each source to ensure price and quality are acceptable. In addition, our size provides us the ability to accumulate hard to find specifications.

Our sales network gives us wide ranging coverage of the global steel markets. We are staffed with experienced personnel familiar with the local business laws and customs of their region. We also have experience professionals with R&D, engineering, and metallurgy capabilities to assist with your needs.

Titan Steel has a dedicated logistics team focused on international business. While we have a breadth of abilities, we have become highly efficient at managing worldwide shipments of steel. Not only will we work to get customers the best price and most timely delivery, but we are also know the best methods to structure and execute transactions.

In our two service centers, we have 8 processing lines as well as a diverse inventory of over 20,000 tons of steel products. We are capable of cutting up to 100,000 tons per year and slitting up to 60,000 tons per year. Our operators have experience running prime and secondary material.

Operating Divisions

International Sales Division

Our International Sales division is skilled at managing global supply chains for customers outside of North America. These customers can take advantage of our diverse sources of supply, our strategic assets and our partnerships with local associates. We are focused on maintaining long-term relationships to best serve the changing needs of our customer base.

North American Sales Division

Our North American Sales division focuses on the particular requirements of customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. We are familiar with the exacting business standards of these customers and their requisites for sourcing and processing tinmill and flat rolled steel products. We provide specialized services to facilitate the entire steel supply chain.

Purchasing

Titan Steel has developed the premier purchasing platform for tinmill and flatroll steel products. We have a unified team that provides purchasing for the entire company. Our consolidated purchasing approach ensures consistency and efficiency by giving Titan Steel’s purchasing managers access to a wide portfolio of mill sources and the proprietary information required to properly evaluate offers.

We regularly audit all our supply sources and get ongoing feedback of the quality of material being processed by us and used by our customers.

Operations & Execution

Our operations and execution division ensures all transactions are completed as requested. Our assets and procedures usually exceed our ISO 9001 standards, while maintaining efficiency in execution. Our operations are set up with a singular focus on light-gauge, surface-critical products and we are skilled in handling the requirements of these products.

We can provide continuous feedback throughout transaction to ensure supplier and customer satisfaction.
